380mm M Compound Front Discs for the S55 and N55 M Cars

A pair of genuine BMW front brake discs for the F8X generation M cars: the M3 F80 saloon (2014-2018), the M4 F82 coupe and F83 convertible (2014-2020) and the M2 F87 (2016-2021), including the Competition versions that kept the standard brakes. They are the same 380mm steel discs BMW fitted to these cars with the blue M Compound calipers, so they go straight on with no changes to the calipers, pads or wear sensors.

As original equipment parts they match the factory discs for diameter, thickness, offset and venting, which keeps the pedal feel and ABS behaviour exactly as BMW set it up. Choose them to replace a worn or warped set, to return the car to standard, or to keep a cherished F8X fully OEM.

Not suitable for: cars fitted with the optional M Carbon Ceramic brakes (gold calipers), the M3 CS, M4 CS and M4 GTS, or the M2 Competition with the optional 2NH M Sport brakes and the M2 CS, which use the larger 400mm front and 380mm rear discs. Installation

The discs are a direct swap for the originals. Fit new pads at the same time, clean the hub face thoroughly before fitting so the disc sits flat, and torque the wheel bolts in stages to BMW's specification. Bed the new discs and pads in gently over the first 150 to 200 miles with no hard stops. If a wear sensor has been triggered, fit a new one and clear the service indicator afterwards. We recommend professional fitting.

How do I know if my M2 Competition has the standard brakes or the M Sport brakes?

Measure the front disc. The standard M Compound brakes use a 380mm front disc; the optional 2NH M Sport brakes use a 400mm disc with larger calipers. If your car has the larger discs you need the 2NH M Sport front discs instead.

Do these fit the M3 Competition and M4 Competition?

Yes. The Competition package on the F80 M3 and F82 F83 M4 did not change the brakes, so the standard 380mm discs are correct. The M3 CS, M4 CS and M4 GTS are different and are not covered.

Do they fit the original N55 M2 as well as the S55 M2 Competition?

Yes. Both the 2016-2018 M2 and the 2018-2021 M2 Competition use the same 380mm front discs with the standard brakes.

Is this one disc or a pair?

A pair. You receive two discs, enough for the complete front axle.

Do I need new pads as well?

We always recommend fitting new pads with new discs. Old pads have worn to the shape of the old discs and will not bed in properly against a fresh surface.

Are these the same as the discs fitted at the factory?

Yes. They are genuine BMW parts supplied in BMW packaging, identical to the original equipment discs.
