M1166 takes the M1144 chemistry and stiffens it for heat. The numbers tell the story: shear strength rises to 29.66 kN and compressibility at 400°C drops to just 0.55%, so the pad stays firm and the pedal stays consistent when the discs are glowing at the end of a long stint.
It suits cars that generate real brake temperature: saloon and touring-car racing, tarmac rally and quick single seaters. Initial bite is firmer than M1144 without being snatchy, and the friction curve flattens out through the 300-500°C window rather than climbing, which is exactly what you want when the same corner arrives forty times in a race.
